Design Process

Consult with the client about project requirements/goals. Examine information about the location or site to determine its suitability.
Determine any special issues that may effect development (zoning, environmental, grading/detention/water quality, soil qualities (generic), vistas, and so on). Site-related concerns are frequently addressed in collaboration with a local Civil Engineer who is knowledgeable with the area’s development projects. To properly examine the location, a logographic and Ire survey may be required. Create a relationship of trust and knowledge with the client. Create the scope of work to be accomplished. Create preliminary/schematic drawings, which may contain a preliminary site plan (for a new building) and a preliminary floor plan.
